The UEFA Euro™ 2012 was the 14th edition of the UEFA European Championship, co-hosted for the first time by two Eastern European nations — Poland and Ukraine. The tournament ran from June 8th through to the Final on July 1st at the Olympic Stadium in Kyiv. Sixteen teams competed across 8 venues in 8 host cities, delivering one of the most technically refined editions of the competition in living memory.
Spain retained the Henri Delaunay Trophy — making them the first team in history to win three consecutive major international tournaments (Euro 2008, World Cup 2010, Euro 2012). They defeated Italy 4–0 in a one-sided Final in Kyiv that underlined just how dominant Vicente del Bosque's side had become. Fernando Torres won the Golden Boot, while Andrés Iniesta claimed the Player of the Tournament award.
